About my work and inspirations.

My name is Angi Richardson and I live and work in Redruth Cornwall. The Ceramics I produce are for sale at Craft fairs and Galleries as well as here on my website. I love making functional pieces and I’m proud of the work I create.

I have travelled all over the world and a lot of my inspiration comes from the places I have visited and the people I have met. My county Cornwall also offers an array of adventure, be it on land or coast.

Deep into the hillsides exists a wealth of mining history, scarred, ruggard and colourful with an abundance of wildlife. Flora and folklore tales also leave the imagination to grow wild.

My clay journey began in 2004 when I helped out in a local pottery in exchange for throwing and hand building lessons. Later I went on to participate in evening classes, these led to doing part 1 of a HND in ceramics. During this time I was also a Holistic Massage Therapist, I was torn between the two.

My passion with clay was re-ignited again in 2016 and I did 2 years of throwing lessons, saved up money, bought a second hand wheel and kiln and set up a hobby space in my garden shed. In 2020 I started selling my work at Art fairs and my business was born.

Mug inspired by the beach and waves

I am passionate about the environment and sustainability and I hope I can influence other people to be. Most of the stoneware clay used in my work is dug locally and my packaging is reclaimed reusable and plastic free.
